Description
yummy nutritional alternative to dairy milk
Ingredients
- 1 c Almonds
- 2 c cooled boiled water
- 2 tbsp hemp nuggets (optional)
Instructions
Just soak one cup of almonds to 2/3 cup of water (depending on how creamy you want it) over night in the fridge. I use cooled boiled water. The next day just whizz it up in the blender and strain it though a muslin cloth. You can use the almond mush to make muffins with... yum! I also soak hemp nuggets in with the almonds to get some much needed fatty acids in a vegan diet but I heard hemp is hard to get hold of in australia?
hope this helps
Yas

Oooh, I've been meaning to say: you are meant to throw out that first 'batch' of water from the soaked almonds. See how it is a bit brown? Apparenlty that is the enzyme inhibitor which soaking deactivates (effectively telling the nut it is time to start sprouting). So chuck it, add the same (or whatever) quantity of clean filtered water, then whiz it and strain it
Or so the raw family members tell me
PS. Yas you aren't in Aus are you? I tracked down ground hemp seeds. It is illegal to sell whole seeds in case someone grows them - of course! OH and if you check out http://www.fresh-network.com/  that is a big raw network in the UK, which might be able to point you towards answers for your 'raw vegan children' question?ÂÂ
