Description

Homemade jelly the old fashioned way without all the colours from the jelly crystal packs.

Ingredients

Instructions

Jelly

Oranges (enough for 2 cups of orange juice)

3-4 lemons

2 cups water

1 cup sugar

Thinly peeled rind of 2 oranges

3 tblspn gelatine

Put water, sugar, orange rind and gelatine in a saucepan and stir over gentle heat until sugar and gelatine are dissolved. Cover, remove from heat and set aside for 10 minutes.

Squeeze juice from oranges and lemons.

Strain the water/gelatine mix through a sieve and add orange/lemon juice.

When cool, pour into moulds (or the orange halves) and leave to set.

Notes

(this jelly is a bit tart so maybe some other fruit would be better for kids taste??? would love to know what anyone else has tried)

Yum! I make mine just with 100% juice(apple, orange whatever we have lol) water and gelatine. Maybe if you omitted the rind and replaced the lemon juice for more orange it wouldnt be as tart?
